Homecoming Weekend has finally arrived! It may be a little later in year than usual, yes, but the weather is looking and feeling beautiful—perfect for savoring the outdoors and reveling in school spirit. While most people know Homecoming entails a football game, there are several other events in celebration of the weekend, and you don’t want to miss out. Here are some ways to take advantage and show your Big Red spirit.

Surely you have had prelims keeping you busy and locked away in a library, but Homecoming is an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors with your friends and take a break from studying. Embrace the sunshine while it lasts!

Are you jealous of the football players who have to exercise in the midst of all this Homecoming fun? Luckily for you, there is a 5K at the Cornell Botanic Gardens at 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning. Start your day with a refreshing run early in the morning!

5A reason to wear Cornell apparel.

Is there a cute bright red Cornell tank top you spontaneously bought in January last year? Red sneakers you ordered online when you got into Cornell your senior year of high school? A Cornell bucket hat someone gave you as a present? Now is your chance to wear all Cornell-related clothing items at once—and not get any weird looks.

6The actual football game.

Yes, everyone knows there is supposedly a football game against Brown on Saturday afternoon, but sometimes people get a little carried away at tailgates and forget to attend the most important event of them all. Support Cornell’s football team and fill the stands of Schoellkopf.
