This weekend, Ithaca is set to host a wide variety of talented acts as Cayuga Sound partners with X Ambassadors to celebrate Ithaca’s creative and musical heritage. With a lineup that boasts multiple different genres and sounds, the festival serves to both entertain local residents while also distributing a portion of the proceeds to local non-profits, including Friends of Stewart Park, The Ithaca Youth Bureau, GIAC, Planned Parenthood Ithaca, and Community School of Music & Arts.

Cayuga Sound Festival will have two stages set up in Stewart Park. It will feature a diverse mix of talent from national touring acts, as well as home grown local talent from Ithaca and the Finger Lakes region. Featured acts include X Ambassadors, responsible for the platinum singles “Renegades” and “Unsteady,” as well as The Roots, known for their tenure as the house band on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Local vendors will also be on site to offer attendees a taste of local food and drink.

Of the festival, X Ambassadors’ representative Seth Kellen said, “Ithaca has such a strong musical heritage, and growing up X Ambassadors got the chance to see tons of roots music, bluegrass, world music and more. We want to bring something special to Ithaca with this festival. We all believe Cayuga Sound will become a long lasting event in upstate New York, bringing together people from across the region to dance, eat and drink.”

Ithaca mayor and Cornell graduate Svante Myrick also commented, “Cayuga Sound is an enormous opportunity for the City of Ithaca. It promotes what’s best about our community – culture, the environment, and the economy. As a fan, I’ll be camping out to see X Ambassadors, and as a recovering drummer I’m extremely excited to see Questlove and The Roots.”

General admission and VIP tickets are now available for purchase. VIP ticket packages include a private dinner sponsored by Ithaca Beer on Friday, September 22nd followed by intimate shows at The Haunt and The Dock throughout the weekend.
