I was sitting in my groutfit in my Collegetown apartment when I heard a knock on my door. It was a guy in a bright orange t-shirt who wanted to talk about a Cornell based startup, and boy was I glad I listened to his pitch. If you ever get tired of cooking, haven’t gone to Wegmans in a while, or feel like you don’t have enough time to eat a meal in the morning, Suna Breakfast is for you.
Suna Breakfast is, as you can imagine, a delivery service specifically for breakfast. You order what you want for the night before by 2:00 am and select a 5 minute period during which you would like your food delivered in the morning. If they are even one minute late delivering your food, your entire order will be free.
The week of March 26-March 30th they will be delivering for free to College Ave, and all deliveries will include a complimentary coffee.
And though Suna Breakfast will only be serving College Ave this week, if all goes well they plan to deliver to all of Collegetown in April and the rest of Cornell starting in the Fall of 2018.
Right now they offer four breakfast options; a B.E.C., an egg and cheese, suna yogurt, and an acai mixed-berry smoothie.
Suna Breakfast, now a team of 12, was founded by Pedro Bobrow and Christophe Gerlach, who are both sophomores in AEM. They realized that many students, including themselves, weren’t eating a nutritious breakfast or weren’t eating at all, either because college students don’t want to wake up earlier or because it’s just too much effort to find good hot food before class. Given the health benefits of eating a good breakfast, they decided to come up with a solution for this problem and from that came Suna Breakfast.
