A selfie turns into a tragedy! A man falls from over 30 meters and dies instantly.

We didn’t expect such a situation when people said that technology is dangerous. Who would have thought that simply taking photos could lead to the death of hundreds? This is the case of a tourist who took a selfie from a rooftop. Let us explain why he fell!

The Most Dangerous Selfies

Comparing a shark to a selfie is a conceptual challenge that few would dare to tackle. Yet, this intellectual exercise is worth considering given the havoc wreaked by new technologies. The statistics are clear: taking a selfie is significantly more dangerous than swimming near sharks!

Every year, there are about 20 to 50 deaths worldwide due to selfies. In comparison, fatal shark attacks are much rarer, occurring between 5 and 10 times. Recently, incidents involving mobile phones have been numerous, especially in tourist areas where people feel they are in no danger!

One of the most horrific incidents involved an American tourist visiting the Colosseum in Rome. He lost his balance while taking a selfie and fell onto a metal fence. The harrowing scene lasted 20 minutes before rescuers could free him. Fortunately, he survived the ordeal!

Another tourist wasn’t as lucky as the American. While traveling in Colombia, he was admiring the stunning Dumbira forest from a viewpoint. Suddenly, he fell and found nothing to grab onto. Authorities located his body a few hours later, thanks to passing hikers!

The Tourist Wanted to Capture the Moment

The most recent tragic case due to a selfie involved a 48-year-old tourist. While vacationing in the Canary Islands, Spain, he was enjoying time with a friend at a rooftop bar. It’s unclear how long they had been there, but around 1:30 AM, the situation escalated!

The atmosphere was certainly lively during the outing for these two men. At one point, one of them climbed onto the railing, unaware that he was over 30 meters high. He likely intended to capture the breathtaking view by taking a selfie!

As expected, he lost his balance and, instead of stepping back, he took a step in the wrong direction. This led to a fatal plunge from the eighth floor of the building. His friend tried to hold on to him, but he fell too quickly. Emergency services recovered him at the bottom of the building, but he had already lost his life!

Local authorities have advised tourists against taking selfies in risky locations. This includes high spots, unstable areas, or near beaches. Unfortunately, this man ignored the advice, resulting in his premature death!

This latest tragedy highlights the need to inform tourists of the risks they face. Those with health issues, particularly related to blood pressure, should exercise extra caution.
